Manufacturer checks in order

  1. On thick carpet or high-pile rugs, also test Roomba on a hard floor to see whether the issue persists.
  2. Open the Cleaning Head Module door by pushing on the green tab on the right side of the multi-surface rubber brushes and remove them from the robot.
  3. Leave the brushes out and close the Cleaning Head Module door, turn the robot over, place it on a flat surface and press CLEAN.
  4. If Error 2 clears, inspect the brushes and remove any hair or debris, especially under the end caps.
  5. Reinstall the brushes and re-test the robot.
  6. If the error returns after reinstalling clean brushes, you may need replacement multi-surface brushes.
Safety notes

Use the instructions for your exact robot and dock. Stop if the unit is wet, unusually hot, damaged or has a swollen battery. Contact the manufacturer; do not bypass sensors or open sealed electrical assemblies.
