iRobot Roomba Charging Error 105: Charging current is too low

Editor: · Updated · How we verify

Charging current is too low.

Manufacturer source checked 2026-10-01. Match the entire message and exact model family before following a fix.

What this message means

This is a charging warning, distinct from a cleaning code with a similar number. Match the exact model to the individual manufacturer article before choosing a battery or dock procedure. Dock power, contact seating and accessible charging surfaces are the first checks. A timeout or loss of charge while docked is not a measured capacity result.

Checks in order

  1. Check that the original compatible dock has power and its cord is seated.
  2. Disconnect as directed and clean accessible charging contacts by the manufacturer method; do not scrape damaged contacts or bridge them with metal.
  3. Seat the robot normally and check whether charging begins and continues. Contact support about damaged or discoloured contacts.

How to decide whether the check worked

Run one short supervised retry after the permitted checks. Compare the exact warning with the original message. A different warning needs its own instructions. If the robot completes the attempt, observe the next normal job; one successful retry does not prove that damaged hardware has been repaired.

Write down whether the same message returns immediately, only during cleaning, or only while docking. Keep the robot model and software version with that observation. A short recording of the visible message can help manufacturer support distinguish a repeated fault from another warning; keep serial numbers and personal information out of anything shared publicly.

Does this require a replacement part?

A charging warning does not authorise a generic battery substitution. Confirm the full robot, dock and original battery identifier against the manufacturer article. Not confirmed electrical relationships remain unavailable for purchase. Capacity claims are separate from fit and charging-system acceptance.

Use the part links below to check the original identifier, exact model, source market and written fit caveat. The error message itself does not confirm that a seller's replacement fits. An unverified or excluded relationship has no shopping button. If the part is a battery, charging component or sealed motor, use the manufacturer service route rather than adapting a similar assembly.

When to contact support

Contact the manufacturer if this exact warning returns after the listed checks or a component will not seat normally. Provide the model, complete message, when it occurs and the checks already performed. Let support decide whether a service assembly is required.

Stop the test if the robot is wet, unusually hot, smells abnormal, has a damaged cord or shows battery swelling. Do not disable cliff sensors, force a jammed mechanism or open a sealed electrical assembly to make the message disappear. Use a physical barrier around drops during any supervised retry.
